“I Am Willing”: Jesus heals a leper and paralytic (Luke 5:12-26)

The words Jesus spoke to the leper, “I am willing” must have been like cool water on a hot day. Discarded by society as yesterday’s garbage, this unclean man hadn’t felt a human touch in years. But Jesus touched him, healed him, and also made it possible for him to love again. Isn’t it like Jesus to show great compassion? Isn’t it like Jesus to touch us and heal us from the deadly disease of sin and restore us to his family when we ask?
