Calvary Chapel Lemon Grove had its beginnings as an outreach church of Calvary Chapel La Mesa. With the blessing of Pastor Dave Riley, Pastor Dave and a group of 12 believers met for the first time on July 7th, 1991 in the auditorium of Lemon Grove Middle School. For six months the church met there until lack of finances led them to look elsewhere. The Christian Church of Lemon Grove graciously opened their doors and allowed the fellowship to hold Sunday Services at 1 PM. For two years the church held an afternoon service until moving to their present location at Washington Square.
Through the years, it has been clear that serving and loving those who come
through the church’s doors has been God’s purpose for CCLG. Many
have come and gone, their faith strengthened and challenged by their time
in the church.
Who knows where the Lord will lead us. Our
only desire is to be faithful to the course He has laid out before us –
teaching the Word, sharing the Gospel, and being a light to those in our community.
